- Stand hip-wide apart with your legs and grip the bar (which is on a rack) just wider than shoulder-width apart. 
- Lift off the bar and take a step backwards.In the starting position, hold the bar at shoulder height with bent elbows pointing outwards. 
- Inhale and tense your torso and seat. 
- Push up the weight until the arms are straight and the bar is straight above the head.Then return with controlled movements to the starting position.Repeat until you have a full set.
